Student's thoughts on some of the films we have screened this week.

Topher Gedney
Memphis Belle
The Memphis Belle was a B-17 quad-engine bomber which was to deliver a payload to a German warehouse. Although I didn’t feel as immersed as I did with Dunkirk, I did acknowledge the air front was way more intense and deadly than the ground. I also felt more concerned for the people that were in the plane, whereas in Dunkirk I felt like I didn't feel too connected to the people as I didn’t even know their names.

Clare Shurtleff
Saving Private Ryan
This move was so inspiring. The part that really stood out to me was when the captain was dying he told Ryan to “earn it.” In my mind this means to live your life as full as you can. In the end, Ryan goes to the captain's headstone and asked “Did I do a good job living my life?” This really spoke out to me because even though they know each other for not that long, they had a big bond.

On Thursday February 28 we visited the New England Air Museum in Windsor Locks, CT. We had the privilege of being guided by Mr. Griff Gray a docent with extensive knowledge of the Boeing B-29 Superfortress located at the museum. Here are some photos of our group enjoying the museum and learning from Mr. Gray.
